Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Asphalt Art Initiative began as a partnership with Street Plans in 2019 and included just 10 US cities. It has since grown to include 64 cities across the US and Europe, and this year, it’s planned to expand its reach to 20 additional new cities – including in Canada and Mexico for the first time. Street Plans couldn’t be happier that we get to continue this work making cities safer and more vibrant on an even larger scale.

Street Plans was also extremely proud to lead the research for the creation of the first Asphalt Art Guide – the definitive guide in best practices for successful asphalt art projects including community involvement, liability concerns, design development, materials, and project implementation. Among the impressive projects featured are some of Street Plans’ own work, including Rue Vendome Plaza and the Coxe Avenue redesign. The Guide is available in English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Nederlands, & Polski.
