The War on Cars Interview

Street Plans Principal Mike Lydon was interviewed this week on The War on Cars podcast. The episode explores how different cities across the world have responded to the COVID 19 pandemic. From the City of Oakland, CA repurposing 74 miles of its streets for cyclists and pedestrians, to London banning cars in its financial center, cities and towns are are rapidly re-programming their streets to give human beings the space that once belonged to motor vehicles.

Lydon talks about the positive changes that have resulted from the spacial reallocation of our streets and thinks that cities can start looking at ways to make some of these changes permanent.
