Street Plans Selected for DC Placemaking Initiative

The District of Columbia’s Office of Planning has selected Street Plans, in partnership with the Washington Area Bicyclist Association, as a winner of its international competition, Crossing the Street: Building DC’s Inclusive Future through Creative Placemaking. The initiative is a part of Mayor Muriel Browser’s innoMAYtion, a month-long initiative showing how DC’s entrepreneurs are reshaping the nation’s capital. Along with Gehl Studio, Cultural DC, the Van Alen Institute, and other selected teams, Street Plans will develop and deliver a project in one of 15 locations throughout the city to foster civic interaction and engage residents in a conversation about the future of the City.

The interventions will be rolled out this summer, through the fall. View the press release here.
