BQX Livable Streets Lookbook | New York, NY

Project Status: Complete

The Brooklyn-Queens Connector (BQX) is a proposed 11-mile light rail line linking some of Brooklyn’s and Queen’s wealthiest and poorest neighborhoods. The transit line seeks to fill a missing gap in the rail network by providing a reliable form of transportation to some of New York City’s fastest growing residential and employment neighborhoods (Downtown Brooklyn, Williamsburg Waterfront, Long Island City).

Friends of the BQX retained Street Plans to develop a “lookbook” of visualizations focused on six livable street transformations that could be achieved as part of the project’s implementation. Street Plans produced a series of photosims, street sections, and axonometric perspective drawings that showcase the public space and transportation benefits associated with the proposed project.
