Mike Lydon proposed a Rails-with-Trails corridor along a 24-mile railway between Auburn and Portland, Maine, reports The Forecaster. The company that operates the railway recently anounced that it would be discontinuing its service to its only customer on that line. The Street Plans Collaborative is behind a five-town effort to improve biking and pedestrian accessibility in the area, and the Rails-with-Trails corridor would run through four out of the five towns.
