We’re honored to share that Street Plans has been awarded with two Congress for the New Urbanism Charter awards. Principles Mike Lydon and Tony Garcia were in Buffalo last Thursday to accept awards for Best Tactical Intervention and Best Special Jury Award alongside project partners.
The first project was awarded for a workshop and series of resulting projects in Hamilton, ON. One of the projects, which used traffic cones to calm and intersection helped inspire the city to develop a pilot program that has addressed safety concerns at nearly 70 other intersections. The project was completed with our client, the Hamilton-Burlington Society of Architects. You can read more about the project here.
The second award went to Dover Kohl & Partners, for a town resiliency plan in Jean Lafitte, Louisiana. Our firm collaborates often with Dover Kohl and was proud to serve as the team’s bicycle and pedestrian planners.
