Street Plans worked along side Wallace Roberts & Todd (WRT) and the Yerba Buena Community Benefit District to lead the public engagement efforts for the creation of the second edition of the Yerba Buena Street Life Plan. The public involvement strategies carried out in April 2018 allowed the team to compile ideas from the community to inform the final draft of the Street Life Plan, which included a road map for the creation of projects both large and small to improve the neighborhood’s pedestrian experience, alleys, and streets and open spaces.
The public engagement efforts were kicked off in early spring 2018 with the installation of a mobile parklet in the Yerba Buena neighborhood. This space was used during one day to invite community members to experience a newly created public space and conduct interviews related to opportunities for green space, public art, and pedestrian comfort.
The information gathered was then shared at a public charette for stakeholders and community members to review and provide further input for the development of the plan.
The second edition of the Yerba Buena Street Life Plan was completed in 2019.
